Silent Beacon – Troubleshooting & Support Q&A Guide
Purpose Provide concise, question‑and‑answer solutions to the most common Silent Beacon issues and inquiries. Each entry is self‑contained so customers can quickly search or scan.
1 Setup & Pairing
Press the smooth button for 3–5 seconds. A short vibration plus a flashing LED means the unit has power. If nothing happens, charge the Beacon for at least 30 minutes and try again.
A blue flash (1–2 sec) on power‑up means it is already paired; a red flash means it is on but not paired. You can also check pairing status in the Beacon tab of the app.
- Delete any existing “Silent Beacon 2.0” devices from the phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- In the Silent Beacon app → Beacon tab → tap + and follow the 3‑step wizard.
- Wait until the app shows Bluetooth paired and Calling paired.
Note the MAC code shown (starts with “SB…”) and contact support; we will wipe the Beacon from the backend. After confirmation, re‑pair as a new device.
We realize how frustrating this may be. If your Beacon is flashing red, it may have been inadvertently put into alert mode before pairing. You do not need to reset it first — start by pairing the Beacon to the app. Once paired, the Beacon may attempt to call your emergency number again since it is still in alert mode. Open the main menu in the app and tap the redEmergency Alert button to turn off the alert.
If pairing does not resolve the issue, follow the Beacon reset steps by holding both buttons down for about 15 seconds until the unit makes an audible noise, this occurs after the beacon flashes white then cycles all the light colors.
Note: On older firmware, or a device that has not ever been properly paired, the alert can remain red even when powered off or unpaired. It will be hard to tell if the device is even on, which you can test by tapping the small smooth button on the right hand side, this will either blink red or blue quickly for 2 seconds even when flashing red.
If the Beacon’s battery level is at 10% or below, it may not reset properly. To reset the device, hold both buttons for about 15 seconds. The Beacon LED will flash white and then shut off, confirming the reset has been completed.

3 Emergency Calling & Audio
Verify:
- Emergency Calling toggle is ON for your chosen contact inside the app.
- Phone has cell or Wi‑Fi service.
- Silent Beacon app is running in the background.
Yes—replace 911 with a willing personal contact, press the raised button, and confirm the call. Do not use 911 for testing purposes. Afterward, disable Alert Mode (app Home → red banner → PIN).
While the Beacon is in Alert Mode, use the phone’s physical + volume key; the Beacon mirrors the phone’s call volume.
If the Beacon’s battery level is at 10% or below, it may not reset properly. To reset the device, hold both buttons for about 15 seconds. The Beacon LED will flash white and then shut off, confirming the reset has been completed.
