IMPORTANT! The Silent Beacon for Business App must remain open (and running in the background) at all times to successfully notify your contacts during an emergency. While the Beacon can still call the selected number if the App is closed, your contacts will not receive the designated notifications. Please ensure the App is open and running for optimal Beacon performance.
By accessing or using Silent Beacon, LLC’s (“SBL”) mobile applications (“the Apps”), or other additional services and features to which you may subscribe for additional fees (the “Services”) owned or operated by SBL (also referred to as “We”, “Us”, or “the Company”) or Device, you are accepting and agreeing to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth within our Terms of Service, which may be modified by us in our sole discretion from time to time (the “Terms”) and you shall be bound by any modified Terms. Definitions
The Silent Beacon device is referred to as the Beacon
The Silent Beacon’s application is referred to as the App
The main Silent Beacon user is referred to as User, You or Your.
A person you choose to receive alerts inside the app is called a Contact
A second user of a separate App and Beacon is referred to as a Secondary User
A User’s mobile phone, Tablet, or other Bluetooth device the beacon is connected to is referred to as a Smartphone
The lighting system on the Device is referred to as a LED
App Download
Search & Download “Silent Beacon for Business“
The Silent Beacon for Businesses Application is exclusively downloadable for iPhones and iPads through Apple’s iOS App Store as well as for Bluetooth-enabled Android phones and tablets at the Google Play Store.
Compatibility for Apple Devices
Any Bluetooth 5.0 enabled iPhone or iPad with cellular service and the latest operation system installed is compatible.
Compatibility for Android Devices
To check if the your device is compatible, simply search for the App on Google Play store. If the App appears, it will work on your device.

Enhancement
Notifications
A prompt will appear asking you to enable “Push Notifications.” This allows the App to send notifications when certain events occur.
Log In
Please enter the phone number of the smartphone that will connect to the app. Your legal documents will be located at the bottom of the screen.
By logging in, you accept our Terms of Service, User Disclaimer, and Privacy Policy.
Log In – Step 2
A verification screen will prompt you to enter a 6-digit code that is sent to the phone number you provided in Step 1.
Log In – Step 3
The final login step requires you to enter a private 4-digit passcode. This code is used when you attempt to turn off the emergency alert mode or remove/delete the App from your phone.
You are prompted to re-enter the passcode to ensure that the correct 4-digit passcode has been entered.
Location Services
The screen on the left allows you to acknowledge the importance of enabling Location Services and displays the recommended option that will allow the App to properly function.
The screen on the left prompts you to select which location sharing setting.
IMPORTANT!
The app and beacon will not function properly unless you select “Allow While Using App” or a similar option.
Bluetooth®
A prompt will appear asking whether you would like to use Bluetooth.
Pressing “OK” will allow you to connect the Beacon to the App via a Bluetooth LE connection.
IMPORTANT!
If “Don’t Allow” is pressed, the Beacon will not connect, and the App will not function properly.
In the Main Menu, an (!) icon will appear at the top right of the menu, prompting you to enable Bluetooth.
Beacon Setup Guide
This step-by-step setup guide will help you quickly connect your Beacon to the App.
IMPORTANT!
Bluetooth must be enabled on the smartphone that has the Silent Beacon Business App!

Beacon Setup – Step 2
To activate the Beacon, press the smaller button (smooth surface, not raised) for approximately 2 seconds. You will hear it power on, and the LED light will cycle through red, green, and blue.
To confirm if the Beacon is turned on, press the same button and the LED should blink red or blue (red for not connected to the app, blue for connected).
Note:
To turn off the Beacon, hold both buttons for 5 seconds and it will start glowing Purple.
IMPORTANT!
Do not hold both buttons for more than 10 seconds as it activates Reset mode.
Beacon Pairing
The App will now attempt to pair with the closest Beacon.
To confirm the Beacon is turned on, press the same button and the LED should blink red or blue (red for not connected to the app, blue for connected).
IMPORTANT!
After the initial Bluetooth connection, Bluetooth Calling will need to be connected.
Beacon Pairing 1/2
Once the Beacon is paired to Bluetooth, “Beacon Calling” attempts to connect.
“Beacon Calling” allows the Beacon to initiate calls when in Emergency Mode. Once Emergency Mode is activated on the Beacon, the paired phone will automatically dial the preset number.
Note:
The Beacon features two-way communication via a water-resistant speaker and microphone. Once “Beacon Calling” is connected, you can make calls directly through the Beacon with just a single press of a button.
Beacon Paired
Now that the Beacon is paired, “Bluetooth” and “Beacon Calling” show as “Paired” in blue and the Beacon’s current battery level appears.
On this page, you can also activate “Find My Beacon.”
Find My Beacon
If you can’t locate your Beacon, press the “Find My Beacon” icon to sound a chime. Your Beacon must be within Bluetooth range to hear its chime.
Device Information
View your Beacon’s current firmware version and access firmware updates.
Device Identifier
The support team can reference this number if you experience technical issues.
Remove Beacon
The Beacon will unpair from your phone and erase your settings from the Beacon, allowing it to become available to other users.
Factory Reset
The Beacon will unpair from your phone and erase your settings from the Beacon, allowing it to become available to other users.
Warning! The Silent Beacon for Businesses App must remain open (and running in the background) at all times to successfully notify your contacts during an emergency. While the Beacon can still call the selected number if the App is closed, your contacts will not receive the intended notifications. Please ensure the App is open and running for optimal Beacon performance.
Factory Reset the Beacon
Performing a Factory Reset allows you to restore the Beacon to its original factory settings. All saved data and connections to the App will be removed. You may want to Factory Reset the Beacon if you encounter issues with the connection between the App and the Beacon, or if you are removing the Beacon from your network.
Important!
To complete this process you must go to your Bluetooth settings and delete the connection to Silent Beacon 2.0.
Main Menu
The Home Tab includes the most essential functionality – Emergency Alert Mode.
Emergency Alert Button
Automatically activates when the Beacon is in Emergency Alert Mode. It can also be manually toggled in the App for the same alert.
Settings
Settings allow you to manage your subscription, customize information, change your password, and log out of the app.
Map / List Toggle
This feature allows you to switch between the Map view, which displays your location and any Contacts in Alert Mode, and List Mode, which presents all alert information.
Header Tabs
Beacon Tab
You can check your Beacon status, connection, firmware, and device information. This also provides you with a color status of your Beacon.
Gray = Not Setup
Black = Disconnected
Green = Connected
Yellow = Connection Issue

Here you can view your Emergency Dispatcher
Track Footsteps Alert Mode
“Track Footsteps” allows your Dispatcher to continuously monitor your live GPS location. You can activate this mode by pressing the “Track Footsteps” button at the bottom of the “Home” screen or the small, smooth button on the Beacon.
Activated from the App
Once “Track Footsteps” has been toggled on, a popup message will appear notifying the user that the tracking has started. The user may click “Turn Off” if this was done by mistake.
Activated from the Beacon (App open)
The App will send alerts and the user’s live GPS location to their emergency contacts.
Activated from the Beacon (App closed)
Nothing will occur.
Check-in Alert Mode
“Check-in” allows your Dispatchers to receive non-emergency notifications along with the user’s GPS location. This mode sends a notification to the user’s Contacts, sharing a static link to their GPS location accompanied by a customized non-emergency message.
Activated via the App
The App will display a popup message confirming that the “Check-in” has been sent. The App will send a notification with the user’s GPS location to your Dispatcher.
Activated via the Beacon (App open)
The App will send a notification with the user’s GPS location to your Dispatcher.
Activated via the Beacon (App closed)
No action will be taken.
Emergency Alert Mode
“Activate Emergency Alert” allows Dispatchers to receive emergency notifications along with the user’s GPS location. At the same time, the preselected calling Dispatcher will receive a phone call from the user. The user can activate the Emergency Alert by pressing the button at the bottom of the Home screen or the large button on the Beacon.
Activated from the App
The App will prompt the user to confirm if they wish to call the Emergency Number.
Activated from the Beacon (App open or App closed)
A phone call will be automatically initiated through the Beacon.
To deactivate the Emergency Alert, the user must press the red “Emergency Alert On” button and enter their 4-digit passcode. Once the 4-digit passcode is submitted, the Emergency Alert is disarmed.
Dispatchers Screen
The Dispatchers tab allows users to view their emergency contacts and each contact’s notification settings.
Dispatcher
The contact who will receive the phone call when the alert is activated on the Silent Beacon device or in the application. Your company can program any phone number in the U.S., including 911.
Personal Contact
If activated from the Admin, you may add a personal contact who will receive alert notifications when the user activates an alert mode.
My Information
The user’s contact information is stored in the “My Info” tab, which includes the user’s name, phone number, and email address. Only the name and email address can be modified.
The user’s phone number is what associates the account with the user and cannot be changed. If a user has a new phone or phone number, they must delete their account within the app before creating a new account.
My Passcode
You can change the passcode that was set during the “Registration” screen.
Delete Account
Your information will be permanently removed. You will need to contact your admin about disconnecting from your company’s dashboard.

App and device users can click this option for assistance in troubleshooting any issues.
Customer Support
If the user has paired a Beacon, purchased a subscription, or is within the 30-day free trial, a secondary support resource will appear, providing the Customer Support number. Users can call our Customer Support line from 9 AM to 5 PM EST if they need to speak with a representative.
