At Silent Beacon, we pride ourselves on fostering partnerships that make a real difference in people’s lives. One partnership we’re particularly proud of is with the Powell County Council on Aging, a passionate organization located in Montana, dedicated to serving individuals aged 60+ and other persons with disabilities.
Supporting the Seniors of Powell County
Two years ago, as the effects of the pandemic highlighted the unique challenges faced by elderly residents, the Powell County Council on Aging took action. Recognizing the need for both practical assistance and stronger social connections, they launched the Generation Network—an innovative program pairing community members of different generations for weekly one-hour visits. This thoughtful initiative provided safety, companionship, and critical support for the vulnerable members of Powell County.

Additionally, the council actively aids seniors with Medicare enrollment while also offering general assistance with day-to-day needs, healthcare, and social well-being. Their work is crucial in ensuring that Powell County’s elderly population is cared for and connected.

Silent Beacon’s Role in Enhancing Safety
To further their mission of providing safety and peace of mind to their community, the Powell County Council on Aging partnered with Silent Beacon. According to program manager, Dodie Rennfield, After conducting thorough research on safety tools, they decided on Silent Beacon due to its cost-effectiveness and versatile features.
Through this partnership, Silent Beacon provided a free upgrade from the 1.0 panic buttons to our Silent Beacon 2.0 panic button device. With a push of a button, the Silent Beacon allows all users to directly call 911, ensuring immediate access to medical help and law enforcement in emergencies. For the council, this feature was invaluable—they described it as essential in a blunt and serious manner, stating the use of the Silent Beacon panic buttons for them is to ensure they are “meeting safety needs and ensuring they don’t die alone.” This was in reference to the community that the Council of Aging serves in Powell County, Montana.
Silent Beacon’s additional features, such as Bluetooth connectivity, Check-In & Footsteps tracking, and access to an easy-to-use safety app, further empower volunteers, workers, and community members alike. These tools don’t just protect; they provide peace of mind, making day-to-day operations smoother for everyone involved.
